ptima arranges vocational education and
training for young people and adults,
answers for special-needs vocational
education and training for Swedish-speaking
students in Finland as well as provides various
types of services for trade and industry.
Optima is a federation owned by the
municipalities of Jakobstad, Pedersöre, Larsmo,
Nykarleby, Kronoby, Vörå and Kokkola.
We operate mainly in the Jakobstad region
but because of special-needs vocational
education and training we figure in all the
Swedish-speaking regions in Finland. Optima
has 1,100 students in the programs for young
people and 2,000-3,000 adult students on a
yearly basis. We have 260 employees.
The language of instruction in the different
programs is primarily Swedish, but two
programs in vocational upper secondary
education and training as well as some parts of
vocational adult education take place in Finnish.
Services for trade and industry are, of course,
bilingual in Finnish and Swedish.
We also lease out premises for banquets and
seminars and provide restaurant and catering
services.
Our quality management system is certified to
ISO 9001.
