Joint appli­ca­tion to upper sec­ondary edu­ca­tion 2026 (has ended)

Optima provides vocational education and training (VET) only in Swedish

• voca­tion­al upper sec­ondary qualification
• voca­tion­al edu­ca­tion which is orga­nized based on demand­ing spe­cial support
• prepara­to­ry edu­ca­tion for pro­grammes lead­ing to an upper sec­ondary qual­i­fi­ca­tion (Hux/TUVA)
• prepara­to­ry edu­ca­tion and train­ing for work and inde­pen­dent liv­ing (TEL­MA)

The application period in the spring 2026 joint application to upper secondary education started on the 17th of February 2026 and ended on the 17th of March 2026.

Rolling admis­sion to voca­tion­al education

You can apply through rolling admission if you have previously completed upper secondary level qualifications or a higher education degree, or if you are already working and thinking about changing your working field. You can also apply through rolling admission to study places left unfilled in joint application, including general upper secondary education.

Lan­guage Pro­fi­cien­cy Test

If you are unable to demonstrate sufficient proficiency in the language of instruction, or if you have completed your previous qualification abroad, you will be invited to a language proficiency test. The date and time of the test will be communicated directly to the applicant, and the test will be held at Optima, Trädgårdsgatan 30, Jakobstad.

The language proficiency test includes reading comprehension, written communication, listening comprehension, and oral communication.
